I haven’t been active in running for quite a while but I decided to go back at it recently and has been conditioning for some good runs. For the start of 2011, I decided to go with PSE Bull Run for a few reasons (1) it’s close to where I live (2) registration is relatively cheap. My objective also was to get a feel of going back into this kind of runs. Nothing really serious but just to have fun.
There were no gunshots as the go signal but a trading bell was ringed to start off the run. It was much fitting for a “Run for Economy”. It was fairly easy start pacing myself steadily and actually enjoying the morning run with lots of sceneries. My favourite part of course is reaching the Kalayaan Flyover. It’s not every day I could go pass along this route on foot. But there were dimly lit areas early in the morning which they should have illuminated somehow. Quite dangerous.
I finished the 10k run in 1hour and 14minutes but I think the route was a lot longer with both my GPS trackers registering around 11k. Like I said, I had fun with that run and made sure I ran most of the course. It was steadily good until I slowed down on the last kilometre. I did made a few water stops and also snapshots from my Nokia N8 which doubles as a GPS Tracker with the Endomondo App. The images are not tack sharp but it captures the essence of the run.
