Singapore and sanitation seems to go together in this little country. Above the streets everything seems normal. Most well to do people walking around and shopping. But life here is not all that dandy, the cost of living is high that some people can’t keep up. They don’t have greased homeless people like here in the Philippines but there are people in Singapore who are trying to survive by alms under the street.

It is interesting to see these street musicians yearning for a few dollars. Surprisingly some of them are very good that they could perform on stage. Also on the underground I saw an old lady in wheel chairs selling packed tissue papers. And I think I saw a foreigner playing his guitar on the street with his huge pack. A traveler who ran out of money?

It’s interesting to see these scenarios. Reality is, even for a first world country like Singapore, there are still people struggling to make a living. When I was shooting these photos, I made sure my shutter speed was slow to capture the motion of people passing by. Since it’s a busy pedestrian tunnel, I can’t put any tripod there so the image stabilization helped. I was composing the picture holding the camera on waist level.
