“What the? Is this a kiddie bag?!” was my first impression when I saw the Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home Backpack. This little bag is one of the creative attempts of Crumpler to diversify their Million Dollar Home (M$H) camera bags line. Previously I reviewed their regular 4M$H shoulder bag then the new 3M$H sling bag. Now how does the M$H translate as a backpack? I put the camera backpack to a test on several trips to see how effective and functional it is.
Lake Sebu is one of my favorite places in Mindanao and is one of my early explorations in the area. The Tboli people and their weaving are featured in the month’s Cebu Pacific Air’s Smile Magazine. The story “Weave a Lot to Learn” tackles on the Tboli Dreamweavers. Also featured on the story are some of my images, from the opening spread to the next two pages. You can read the online version of the story at the CebuSmile website.
This has got to be my most interesting photo assignment yet. Don’t get me wrong, I love destination features like beaches, hotels or even some adventure activities. This one is literally closer to home. I must thank the staff of Inflight Magazine for trusting me to do this cover feature which I truly enjoyed to do. In the feature story “Slice of Art” we get up close to the rockstars and superstars of art from the different provinces of Rizal, from Laguna’s Paete, Lumban, Liliw then all the way to Binangonan and Angono. It’s such a humbling and inspiring experience to meet the art masters in real life. Makes me want to go back and paint again. The story is excellently written in detail by Monica de Leon, I admire how she funneled out all the important details because for me they were just too many. Kudos also to Jocas See for the Art Direction and the well thought out layout, it couldn’t have been presented better. Mark See also lends his wonderful map illustrations in the story. It’s been a while since I really enjoyed an assignment and hope you get to enjoy this one too. So grab a copy of the InFlight Magazine August-September 2013 Issue at Seair flights and also at NAIA terminal booths.
You can also grab a copy of the latest issue as well at the upcoming Philippine Travel Mart at the SMX Convention Center this September 6-8, 2013. In the meantime you can also add the Inflight Facebook Page for updates.

It was a very interesting afternoon. Most of my photography work mainly deals with Travel and Lifestyle but there are times it would cross to some agricultural subjects. Majority of Filipinos eat rice and it’s no secret we have a large farming industry here like the area sof Pampanga and Cordilleras. I was glad I was invited to talk about Agricultural Photography on the 9th Agriculture and Fisheries Technology Forum and Product Exhibition at SM Megatrade Hall 2, at SM Megamall as it made me dig into my photo archives and look for works encompassing the theme and infuse them to my presentation. I knew I had limited time so I try to put in relevant concepts in my 1-hour discussion including the Q&A portion. The forum was a great venue for learning and sharing, I shared about photography, in return I learned a bit more about the agricultural industry.
I also got a chance to do some rounds in the exhibition. It was very interesting as different regions were able to showcase some products from organic food and produce, cultured mushrooms, wild honey and more. Entrance is free and runs from August 8-11, 2013. So today is the last day to check it out!
Bold, daring and funky are some words I would describe Crumpler. Enter 2013, those qualities led Crumpler to expanded their Million Dollar Home (M$H) collection to more than just shoulder bag types. With the rising popularity of compact camera systems or mirrorless cameras, Crumpler knew these new breed of cameras needed a new home, hence the new 3 Million Dollar Home Sling Bag. Let’s look into this compact yet functional camera bag that sports the Crumpler’s daring character.
