We all need skin care treatment one way or another. Especially for people like us who travel a lot. We get to be exposed to the sun more often. And it’s no secret that the sun is one cause for skin to prematurely age, be damaged or worse, cause skin cancer. I may not have a flawless skin. I even have lots of pimple scars and oily skin. But I do know the need for basic skin care and once in a while, I do visit my derm clinic. Recently I was referred by a friend to try Centro Estetico by Dr H in Timog Quezon City. Yes, that’s a long way from Pasig but they do have treatments worth paying a visit for. Like their new HydraFacial and RevLite Laser.
Centro Estetico by Dr H
With more than a decade of experience in providing aesthetic and cosmetic solutions, slimming and spa services, Centro Estetico by Dr H can assure that clients are taken care of with their non-invasive and up-to-date face and body treatments. Simply known as Centro Estetico before, Dr Hazel Calixto now takes the helm in leading her staff to make sure to deliver the quality of service. Dr H and her staff provide free consultation and recommends treatments tailor fit to client needs.
The Centre
Located at the busy street of Timog and housed at Landsale Commercial Complex, it’s quite accessible to nearby communities, from office workers or even guests in the many hotels in the vicinity. A cozy reception area with revitalising aroma greets visitors. Then clients are led to the treatment rooms found at the two-story centre. Each room have comfortable treatments beds. Various equipment used for treatment are mobile except for the laser which is available at the second floor.
HydraFacial
Dr H recommended a couple of treatments for my oily and scarred skin. First was the HydraFacial. I’ve done diamond peels, regular facials and even the quite painful reboost treatment from other clinics. Anyone who have done facials know how painful those pricking can be, especially on the nose and nearby areas. Unless you’re a masochist, HydraFacial is more gentle but have the same effectiveness of clearing out pores and removing dead skin by using a suction. At the same time, it infuses serum deep into the skin. These serums may vary depending on the need of the client. During the treatment I could really feel the shift from suction to infusion of the treatment serum.
RevLite Laser
The second treatment Dr H recommended was the RevLite Laser. The machine can look quite intimidating. And hell, just the idea of a laser grazing through your skin sounds a bit freaky. But they assured me that this is a non-invasive treatment. The beam of light breaks down the melatonin deposits of the skin and disintegrates them. Hence, lightening the skin. It is used to treat hyper-pigmentations and even removing tattoos. Aesthetically, it helps removes scars and age spots to mention a few.
How does it feel? It felt like a very fine needle pricking lightly on the skin and heat spreading from those areas. Aside from the smell of burning hair where lasers beam through, the pain or discomfort is easily tolerable. And I did notice some of the scars got a little shallower. It does take a few treatments to really see its full effectiveness.
